The face-buttons are also affected in a similar way by the switch in the middle. ![]() For example, in one position the shoulder buttons are L1/R1, but in the opposite position the shoulder buttons are L2/R2. The switch, labeled “position”, in the middle of the Hori 2way controller changes what the buttons do. Some of my favorite gaming memories involved an SNES controller, so I think that is why I feel such a fondness for the dog-bone form. Controllers like this feel immediately familiar to me. The 2way controller is easily pegged as an imitator of the SNES dog bone shape, but interestingly bears the face-button layout of the Sega Genesis.
